Stress is a part of life. But when it becomes chronic and impacts your daily activities, your relationships, and your health, it probably needs to be addressed.

What are the symptoms of anxiety?

Anxiety may look like constant worry, overthinking, and catastrophic thoughts. It may also create physical symptoms, such as heart palpitations, trembling, shortness of breath, and digestive issues. You may have trouble sleeping and have a hard time shutting off your thoughts at bedtime.

How do you treat anxiety?

I use a customized approach to treating anxiety for each individual. Anxiety manifests in both the mind and the body, so my approach uses techniques to calm the nervous system combined with a cognitive exploration of your thinking patterns that may be causing you to feel anxiety. Some of the stress management techniques that I may teach you include grounding, mindful breathing, calming imagery, and guided meditations.

What if my anxiety comes from past trauma in my childhood?

Sometimes the anxiety may have its roots in trauma from the past. In this case, we can explore the causes and use a trauma intervention, such as EMDR, in order to process the negative core beliefs causing the anxiety.

What types of anxiety can you treat?

Clients seek help for many types of anxiety, including generalized anxiety, social anxiety, public speaking anxiety, driving anxiety, phobias, and panic attacks.
